Cardon Opposes President Obama's Latest Amnesty Push
June 15, 2012 - Press ReleaseWil Cardon Refuses to Reward Those Who Break Our Laws
Phoenix, Arizona - Career politicians' election year posturing on amnesty and illegal immigration never seems to end. This morning, President Obama and his administration unilaterally enacted a version of the DREAM Act, directing U.S. law enforcement to look the other way and to allow more than 1 million illegal immigrants to stay in the United States despite having broken the law. This gimmick, designed to rally Obama voters, does Arizona a huge disservice -- especially those Arizonans having trouble finding jobs who will have to compete with illegal immigrants in our state's down economy.
Actions like this drive home exactly why we need outsiders like Wil Cardon in Washington and in the U.S. Senate. Unlike Congressman Flake, who supported pro-amnesty legislation for years before his own election year flip flop, Wil Cardon will not waver in his opposition to amnesty. Arizona needs leaders like Wil, who do what they say they will and will never bow to outside pressure. We cannot afford to allow career politicians to put aside the rule of law simply to win an election.
